Role and Responsibilities
Objective: Drive supplier sourcing and onboarding initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and align supplier capabilities with new product development requirements. Collaborate closely with Engineering and Sourcing teams to enhance product design, supplier performance, and communication efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with New Product Development Engineering and Sourcing teams to identify capability gaps in the current supplier base and align new supplier strengths with evolving product and technical needs.
- Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers through industry networks, outreach, and market analysis.
- Conduct supplier visits, capability assessments, and establish initial relationships to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Partner with Sourcing to onboard and develop suppliers, monitor early-stage projects, and initiate supplier development activities with Engineering, Sourcing, and Supplier Quality teams.
- Act as a liaison between regional suppliers and global engineering teams, facilitating communication across multiple time zones and supporting interpretation/translation when needed.
- Ensure clear and timely communication of expectations, deliverables, and performance metrics; track contracts, purchase orders, and escalate scheduling conflicts to management.
- Identify risks and issues that may impact projects, escalate them appropriately, and implement response plans.
- Prepare and present project reports and status updates to management.

Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and supplier development skills.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain planning, or engineering.
- Solid business acumen in supply chain management, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and build effective relationships.
- Familiarity with business practices in Asia-Pacific markets (Vietnam, China, South Korea, etc.).
- Prior experience collaborating with American companies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
Preferred Experience / Desired Skills:
- Professional certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM, or equivalent).
- Background in precision machining, injection molding, and metal stamping.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Training:
- On-the-job training as required.
Languages:
- English and Mandarin.
