Senior Technical Manager (Expats Only - Based in Bangladesh)

Role & Responsibilities:

• Oversee and optimize all technical aspects of garment and fabric production, including cutting, sewing, dyeing, finishing, and quality assurance.
• Lead the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and techniques to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve complex production issues and minimize downtime.
• Evaluate and enhance production processes to meet global standards in quality and sustainability.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency across manufacturing units.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to introduce innovative fabrics, finishes, and designs.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of production supervisors, technicians, and engineers.
• Conduct technical training programs to upskill staff and maintain high performance.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
• Ensure compliance with international quality standards, including ISO, Oeko-Tex, and other certifications.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to maintain strict quality benchmarks and resolve non-conformance issues.
• Liaise with buyers and auditors to meet client-specific requirements and compliance standards.
• Work closely with merchandising, design, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of technical capabilities with client expectations.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and equipment.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for buyers and clients during production reviews and audits.
• Drive sustainable manufacturing practices, focusing on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly materials.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to sustainability and implement them effectively.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the garment or fabric manufacturing industry, with at least 7 years in a managerial role.
• In-depth knowledge of garment production processes and fabric technologies.
• Proficiency in analyzing technical data and production metrics to drive improvements.
• Familiarity with CAD software and other technical design tools is an advantage.
• Global Environmental and Sustainability target awareness would be an advantage and knowledge of Higg, ZDHC, BCI etc
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and team coordination.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with international apparel markets and trends, particularly for export markets.
• Understanding of compliance and certifications relevant to garment manufacturing.
