The Company:
Our client, a global FMCG player, is seeking a seasoned and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and drive commercial success across Northern Malaysia. This role offers the opportunity to shape sales strategies, build strong distributor networks, and develop talent pipelines for sustainable growth.
Role & Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the North Malaysia sales team (including distributor secondary teams) to effectively execute strategic plans and deliver on business goals.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across SEA, IBD, and other markets to ensure effective implementation of Modern Trade and General Trade strategies, channel, and category plans.

Manage and develop the East Malaysia team for long-term, sustainable business growth, including building a strong talent pipeline.

Drive total sales performance, covering fundamentals such as coverage, call rates, hit rates, and must-sell SKUs.

Analyze market opportunities and develop action plans to achieve sales targets.

Enhance distributor effectiveness and efficiency through strong Route-to-Market models and best practices in Distributor Management.

Plan, control, and direct monthly campaigns and promotional activities to achieve objectives.

Contribute to the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process with accurate M+3 demand forecasting.

Lead regional strategic projects, including potential expansion into Kalimantan.

Monitor competition and market dynamics, providing proactive strategies and responses.

Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and local authorities.

Coach, develop, and provide training for both direct reports and distributor sales teams to build required competencies.

Control expenses within budget and ensure spending efficiency.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Minimum 8 years of sales management experience in the FMCG industry.

Proven experience in building and implementing successful business strategies.

Strong leadership, organizational, and people management skills.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Strong marketing and business acumen.

Advanced English proficiency.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and able to adapt to internal systems quickly.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify opportunities and develop actionable plans.
