1. The Company

Our client is a global leader in industrial engineering and automation solutions, providing advanced systems for manufacturing and production facilities worldwide. With a strong commitment to innovation and operational excellence, the company is expanding its procurement team in Vietnam to support large-scale industrial projects.

2. Role & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all purchasing activities for industrial projects, including procurement of metal materials and components, installation & construction services, and automation equipment

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure cost efficiency, quality compliance, and on-time delivery

• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers for metal raw materials (steel, aluminum, fabricated parts), automation hardware (drives, robotics), and third-party installation contractors

• Manage the entire procurement cycle from RFQ, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, to purchase order issuance and supplier performance monitoring

• Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and site construction teams to align procurement plans with project schedules and technical requirements

• Ensure all purchased materials and services comply with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

• Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery performance

• Monitor market trends for metal commodities and automation components to support strategic buying decisions

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors in Vietnam and across the region

• Lead and develop a local purchasing team to support project-based procurement activities

3. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

• 8+ years of procurement experience in industrial project environments, with at least 3 years in a managerial role

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in purchasing:

  • Metal materials and fabricated metal components (steel structures, sheet metal, machined parts, piping, etc.)

  • Installation & construction services (mechanical/electrical installation, site contractors, labor subcontracting)

  • Automation equipment and components (drives, robotics, control panels)

• Proven track record in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost reduction

• Familiarity with local supplier landscape in Vietnam for metals, fabrication, and installation services

• Strong understanding of import/export procedures, incoterms, and local procurement regulations

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (written and spoken)

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project procurement timelines simultaneously

• Willingness to travel to supplier sites and project locations within Vietnam as needed

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or similar) and MS Office
