Product Manager
About the job
The Company
Our client is a global composite manufacturing company specializing in the development, design, and production of carbon composite components, serving both European manufacturers and large-volume Japanese OEMs.
With a manufacturing facility in Vietnam and a future-oriented technology base, the company is on a strong growth trajectory across its international customer portfolio.
Role Summary
- We are seeking a senior Production Manager to take full ownership of manufacturing performance at our client’s Vietnam facility, spanning quality, capability, and productivity from pre-launch through full production and end-of-production (EOP).
- This is a senior leadership role requiring proven command of large-scale, multi-line manufacturing operations in a highly regulated, customer-driven environment.
- The successful candidate will be the plant’s benchmark for operational excellence—driving conformity to customer and industry standards, embedding a strong quality culture, and building a high-performing production organization capable of sustaining growth.
- This role carries full accountability for production output, cost, and delivery performance, and requires the judgment to make high-stakes operational decisions independently under tight schedules and demanding targets.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Quality Management
- Own production quality, capability, and productivity end-to-end, from pre-launch through full production and EOP.
- Ensure full conformity with company operating procedures, customer requirements, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Drive effective production planning, manufacturing execution, in-process quality, TPM, and on-time delivery without reliance on costly expedites.
Manufacturing Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Set and drive the plant’s continuous improvement roadmap across quality, delivery, and efficiency to meet company targets and business objectives.
- Lead root-cause analysis, preventive action, and permanent corrective action programs at a strategic level.
- Champion lean manufacturing, TPM, and productivity initiatives to sustain competitiveness as volume scales.
Quality Culture & Compliance
- Instill a strong quality mindset, quality policy, GMP principles, and automotive industry standards across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure the plant is consistently audit-ready against customer and industry standards.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the production management team and shop-floor leadership to build organizational depth.
- Build a high-accountability culture where teams take ownership of results under pressure.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and customer teams to align production capability with business commitments.
- Represent production in customer-facing discussions on capacity, quality performance, and delivery commitments.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in the same position (Production Manager), or 10+ years of progressive experience in production management roles, ideally within automotive, composite, or precision manufacturing.
- Demonstrated track record leading production performance in a multi-line, high-volume manufacturing environment serving international OEM customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; a Master’s degree or equivalent advanced qualification is an advantage.
Industry Knowledge
- Strong command of automotive/composite manufacturing standards, GMP, and quality management systems (e.g. IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
- Deep working knowledge of TPM, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Leadership & Business Skills
- Demonstrated strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive business performance beyond its current potential.
- Proven self-motivation and accountability for own decisions, with the judgment to make high-stakes calls independently.
- Comfortable operating in a highly competitive environment with tight schedules and demanding targets.
- Quick, decisive, and confident in making and standing behind production-critical decisions.
- Ability to lead and operate independently at a senior level, with full accountability for outcomes.
Language
- Fluent English across all four skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) is required.
