Packaging Machine Application Technican

Reports To: Regional Technical Manager / Head of Application Engineering

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented Packaging Machine Application Technican to support our customers and sales teams across the APAC region. This role focuses on providing application expertise for printing technologies including offset lithography, flexography, gravure, and related printing/packaging machinery and printers. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical know-how with strong communication skills to drive customer satisfaction, application innovation, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Application Support

• Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers, partners, and internal teams on printing and packaging machinery applications.
• Provide consultation on offset, flexographic, gravure, and digital printing processes, materials, and machinery settings to optimize performance and print quality.
• Support pre-sales activities with technical demonstrations, trials, and application recommendations.

2. Customer Training & Commissioning

• Conduct on-site installation support, machinery commissioning, and operator training for new equipment.
• Deliver technical seminars, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions for customers and distributors across the APAC region.

3. Process Optimization & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to printing machinery performance, substrates, and inks.
• Recommend process adjustments to improve productivity, reduce waste, and ensure consistent quality.

4. Application Development & Innovation

• Collaborate with R&D, product management, and sales to develop new application solutions tailored to customer requirements and market trends.
• Stay updated with advancements in printing technology, packaging design, and automation systems.

5. Regional Travel & Support

• Travel across APAC countries to support projects, installations, troubleshooting, and exhibitions/trade shows.
• Act as a regional expert to align customer needs with company offerings.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Printing Technology, Packaging Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in a technical application or service role within the printing/packaging machinery industry.
• Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of offset lithography, flexography, gravure printing processes.
• Familiarity with prepress, color management, substrates, inks, and coatings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, customer-facing, and presentation abilities.
• Languages: Proficiency in English; additional APAC languages is an advantage.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel regionally up to 50–70% of the time.
