Country Finance Manager
About the job
Our client is looking for a Country Finance Manager for a global Medtech Group, who will lead end-to-end finance operations for the country, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial governance, and compliance with local regulations and company policies. This role serves as a key business partner to local management, supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, internal controls, and audit readiness for a medical device operating environment.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting
-
Own month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements preparation.

Ensure timely, accurate submission of financial reporting to regional headquarters and corporate stakeholders.

Monitor and analyze financial performance versus budget/forecast; provide insights and recommendations to management.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

Drive annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles for the country representative office.

Establish cost tracking, variance analysis, and action plans to manage spend.

Support business cases and financial modeling for operational initiatives.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

Manage bank accounts, cash positioning, and reconciliation processes.

Coordinate intercompany transactions (if applicable) and support funding requests.

Ensure proper tracking of receivables/payables (where relevant) and payment workflows.

Financial Governance, Controls & Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with all applicable local tax, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements for the representative office.

Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to company financial policies (procurement, spend approvals, vendor management, expense policies).

Maintain audit-ready documentation, support internal and external audits, and address findings with corrective actions.

Tax & Statutory Compliance (with local partners as needed)

Coordinate with local tax advisors/accountants to ensure timely filings and compliance.

Review tax calculations and ensure correct treatment of expenses and intercompany activities.

Maintain statutory registers and documentation.

Procure-to-Pay & Expense Oversight
-
Ensure proper approval workflows for invoices, expenses, and reimbursements.

Review vendor invoices and support vendor onboarding/maintenance processes (in coordination with Procurement/Operations).

Ensure timely payments aligned with contractual and policy requirements.

Cross-Functional Business Partnering

Partner with Sales/Marketing, Regulatory/Affairs, Operations, and HR to support financial planning and operational decision-making.

Provide financial guidance on pricing-related support (where applicable), cost structures, and resource planning.

Ensure adequate budget control for country activities.

Process Improvement
-
Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve data quality.
-
Support implementation of finance systems/tools (e.g., ERP, expense tools) and ensure consistent usage.

Promote standardization with regional finance teams.

Key Requirements:
-
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Experience: Typically 5–10 years of progressive finance experience, including country-level responsibility or strong management exposure.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the medical devices or broader healthcare/life sciences industry is highly preferred.
- Accounting & Reporting: Strong understanding of local accounting standards, IFRS, and financial reporting processes, including month-end close.
- Compliance & Tax: Experience supporting tax compliance, statutory reporting, and external/internal audits.
- Systems: Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel. Experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms is an advantage.
- Language: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial where required for the role.
