Job Purpose
The Contract Sales Representative is responsible for driving service contract revenue by winning back non-contracted installed base customers, renewing existing contracts, and clearly demonstrating the value of hardware (HW) service contracts. This role combines value-based selling, customer success mindset, and disciplined execution to maximize customer retention, satisfaction, and long-term service profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Sales & Win-back
- Proactively identify and pursue service contract opportunities within the non-contract installed base, using creative and aggressive win-back strategies.
- Develop tailored approaches to re-engage inactive or lapsed customers and convert them into contracted clients.
2. Customer Success
- Apply value-selling principles to understand customer operational needs, pain points, and business objectives.
- Clearly articulate and demonstrate the unique value and benefits of HW service contracts, including uptime, cost predictability, risk mitigation, and performance improvement.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers to drive satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term business success.
3. Contract Management & Negotiation
- Negotiate with customers on service contract scope, type, and commercial terms for HW service contracts.
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on service contract quotations, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Lead contract closure activities, including new contracts, renewals, and upsell opportunities.
- Present and reinforce the contract value proposition to existing customers under contract to support renewals and retention.
4. Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute the service contract business schedule, aligning activities with revenue targets and customer timelines.
- Monitor contract lifecycle milestones and proactively manage renewals.
5. Reporting & Collaboration
- Regularly report on sales pipeline, win-back progress, renewals, and business activities to management.
- Support the Contract Sales Manager with day-to-day operational and administrative needs.
- Collaborate closely with service, technical, and operations teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
6. Other Duties
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.
Profile/ Qualifications
1. Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in service sales, contract sales, customer success, or aftermarket sales within industrial technology, machinery, or automation environments.
2. Skills & Competencies
- Strong value-selling and consultative selling capability.
- Proven negotiation and closing skills, especially for service or recurring-revenue contracts.
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to balance commercial goals and long-term relationships.
- Well-organized, disciplined in planning, execution, and follow-up.
- Comfortable working with data, reporting, and CRM tools.
