Position Overview: The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a critical role in expanding the company’s pharmaceutical business in Vietnam. This is an individual contributor role responsible for driving market growth through partner management, tender bidding, and market development activities. The BDM will work closely with distributors, healthcare institutions, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to build a strong commercial footprint and ensure long-term business sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Partnership Management
- Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with existing partners.
- Expand the partner network to optimize coverage and penetration in targeted therapeutic areas.
- Conduct market research to assess feasibility of new drug introductions and portfolio expansion.
Tender Management
- Lead the preparation, submission, and execution of national tender bids.
- Ensure successful participation tender project.
- Collaborate with distributors and internal teams to ensure compliance with tender requirements.
KOL Engagement & Therapeutic Area Expertise
- Build strong relationships with medical experts, physicians, and KOLs to drive product advocacy.
- Possess good understanding of key therapeutic areas relevant to the company’s portfolio.
- Support scientific exchange and engagement activities as needed.
Commercial & Market Intelligence
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes.
- Work with dealers/distributors to strengthen commercial execution and maximize sales.
- Provide input on product portfolio strategy based on market insights.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs and Compliance teams to ensure business activities align with Vietnam Pharmaceutical Law.
- Support internal teams in planning, forecasting, and commercial excellence initiatives.
Job Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, business development, tender management, or related roles.
- Proven success in bidding and managing national hospital/pharma tenders.
- Strong network with hospitals, distributors, and KOLs.
- Deep knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
Personal Attributes
- Senior, independent, and able to work without daily supervision.
- Strong, resilient, and results-driven personality.
- Preferably from local or mid-sized pharma companies (not large MNCs).
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
